  • Yumiko Miwa

    Yumiko Miwa [Moderator] Professor, School of Commerce, Meiji University

    She joined Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. in 1988, and She started to work for Meiji University as a full-time lecturer and assistant professor and she became a professor there in 2005. Visiting scholar at the University of Michigan (2006-2008). In addition to serving on the boards of several academic societies, she also serves as an outside director of Japanese companies. My research interests include institutional investors and corporate governance, institutional investor engagement and ESG investment, the impact of activists on companies, and the social advancement of women, especially in the finance world.

  • Mari Yoshitaka

    Mari Yoshitaka Fellow (Sustainability), Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting Co., Ltd.

    She received M.S. from University of Michigan, School for Environment and Sustainability and Ph.D. from Keio University, Graduate School of Media and Governance. She has been working on climate change policy especially climate finance and mitigation projects and pursuing modalities of enhancing financial incentives to reduce greenhouse gases emissions. Recently she provides advise on the field of sustainable finance and management.

  • Akira Kato

    Akira Kato Professor, Graduate School of Management, Tokyo University of Science

    Degree: Doctor of Business Administration from Aoyama Gakuin University in 2012. Graduated from the Japan National Defense Academy in 1982. Member of ISO/TC 322 & expert of Japan in the METI, IFRS/ISSB study committee member of Securities Analyst Association. After working for a trading company, AIU Insurance Company (AIG) and Aichi Sangyo University, assumed the current position in 2020. Major books: Risk Finance from a CFO’s Perspective (Insurance Daily), Shields and Spears (Kinzai), Sustainable Management and Capital Markets (Nikkei), Principles of Sustainable Finance (Translation, Oxford), and Impact Investment for Changing Society (Translation, Gleenleaf).

    He is a scientist, engineer, educator, and entrepreneur. He earned a B.A. degree summa cum laude in Physics from UC Berkeley in 2001 and a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT in 2007. While at MIT, he contributed to the development of quantum-enhancement techniques in the LIGO group, which received the 2017 Nobel Prize in physics for the detection of gravitational waves. His research group is currently dedicated to developing “serendipity-enabling technologies” through extreme engineering. He has authored nearly 300 journal papers, filed over 30 patents, and launched three startups: CYBO, LucasLand, and FlyWorks. Goda has received more than 30 awards and honors.

  • Takahiro Ikeda

    Takahiro Ikeda CEO, Pi PHOTONICS, INC.

    He is an entrepreneur and engineer in photonics. He received B.A. and M.S. from University of Tokushima, Optical Science and Technology and Ph.D. from the Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries. He was a researcher in the central research laboratory of Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. and The George R. Harrison Spectroscopy Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He started Pi Photonics Inc in 2006. He had a lot of experience such as management, technological development, production management, promotion, sales, capital procurement, taxation accounting, legal affairs, etc. We will kindly keep offering products that integrate photonics technology with holography.

  • Hirokazu Kitahara

    Hirokazu Kitahara Partner, Archetype Ventures

    He is a Partner at Archetype Ventures/ATV, which is a B2B Tech focus venture capital firm. ATV has ¥12.5B in assets under management over 4 funds and invests in mainly seed plus “with product without revenue” startups across AI, SaaS, ClimateTech and DeepTech. Before ATV, He worked for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and Boston Consulting Group.
